Britain could be battered by 70mph winds at the end of this week and weather warnings are likely to be issued all across the country! The storm is building up due to the low pressure in the Atlantic and the jet stream currents are directing the surge of awful weather straight at the UK.

But now onto what we care about…

The swell from storm Doris is set to bring huge waves to the coast of the UK and is set to bring the biggest waves of the year so far. The storm is set to hit Cornwall first on Friday with a 21.5ft at 18 secs swell forecast for the morning. Solid surf is predicted to continue throughout the weekend and into the first half of next week.

The swell is heading in from the south accompanied by south/south-easterly winds meaning that the north-west facing coasts will be a more manageable size with the perfect wind conditions there. Watergate Bay and Fistral will be popular spots for many surfers with the magic seaweed report looking like this, however many other spots will be equally as good!

The wind remains strong throughout the weekend (and throughout next week too) meaning there is plenty of opportunity to get in the water across many spots in the whole of the UK…10583887_279423745582836_5930498608487608584_nfgd

but obviously, nowhere will be better than Devon and Cornwall!
