Grinagog Festival returned this year for its second year and brought the sun with it for a brilliant weekend.
The festival boasted over 200 acts across multiple stages all over Torquay. As well as music acts, Grinagog had family activities, food, films, street performers and workshops along with a great atmosphere throughout. The variety of age ranges there was great to see, it really re-invented itself as a family friendly festival more so than we found last year.
Last year we had some issues with power cuts through the headline act ‘Rat Boy’. However this year it seemed that the teething problems mostly been resolved (some minor feedback issues with Tiny Folds) and all went smoothly. Overall I thought that the overall line up was not so much my cup of tea to last year, however I definitely was able to find something that took my fancy and the open areas were great to chill and take in the atmosphere of the event.

For me, the best part of this event is showcasing some local talent in Torquay, somewhere which doesn’t have many live music venues so usually people have to travel to see live music. There were artists from across South Devon playing alongside other well established artists too. The festival gives a great opportunity for local bands and that is something that Torbay really needed.
Overall the effort and dedication put into the event by the team really paid off and all the doubts that we had from last year were solved! Overall a great festival for a great price and in a fab location. Definitely one for all the family and we look forward to a bigger and better Grinagog next year!
